Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or auditing
Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Zanzibar tax laws is a plus
Responsibilities
- Prepare purchase orders for all activities and purchases
- Ensure payments follow approved purchase orders
- Reconcile bank accounts and accounts payable/receivable
- Assist with monthly financial verifications and closings
- Ensure compliance with statutory financial regulations
- File obligations with TRA, ZRA, and ZSSF
- Monitor internal controls to protect assets and prevent fraud
- Support audits with documentation and clarifications
- Support teams with office logistics
- Manage schedules, meetings, and correspondence
- Arrange staff travel, transport, and accommodation
- Oversee assets (vehicles, utilities, registries) and event planning
- Ensure policy compliance and maintain filing systems
- Facilitate purchase order creation and dispatch
- Ensure procurement follows organizational policies
- Use proper forms and procedures for purchases/contracts
