Qualifications

Competencies
- Experience in developing and implementing innovative conservation education programs for children and young people
- Proven ability to lead, nurture, and manage a team of volunteers in social projects
- Experience in designing and delivering outreach programs
- Experience in proposals, report writing, and fundraising
- Strong capacity to work independently
- Proficiency in working within diverse teams
- Fluency in both English and Kiswahili
- Proficiency in computer applications including SPSS, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience working with various agencies, government departments, UN agencies, and partners
- Experience living in or working with communities in Zanzibar, particularly Unguja and Pemba
Responsibilities
- Lead and expand Roots & Shoots activities in the Unguja and Pemba regions
- Supervise and coordinate compassionate Roots & Shoots actions
- Nurture Roots & Shoots volunteers, interns, teachers, and youth leaders
- Represent the National Coordinator in stakeholders’ meetings
- Facilitate membership registrations, certifications, and organize club activities and events
- Collaborate with the National Coordinator to raise funds
- Coordinate and facilitate visits from National and International Roots & Shoots members
- Support the implementation of different JGI-Tanzania strategic conservation projects/activities in Zanzibar
- Provide updates and prepare relevant reports
- Oversee and manage all technical, logistical, and administrative operations within the Zanzibar zonal office
- Ensure the safety and security of all Roots & Shoots assets in Zanzibar
