Qualifications

Certificate of Secondary School Education with VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade One/Level Three in Mechanic
Diploma/Full Technician Certificates (FTC) in Mechanical Engineering

A minimum of 2 years working experience as a Mechanic in the maintenance of BELL Trucks, Normet Machines, R2900 Loader, AD60, Mining CAT Machines, RH 40 & 170 Excavators and MT 4400
Proven experience in Troubleshooting and maintenance work on BELL and CAT Equipment
Ability to read and understand maintenance manual books
Interpersonal skills for timely job completion
Knowledge on Health, Safety and Environmental issues
Problem-solving skills
Good written and oral communication skills in Swahili and English
Ability to work under minimum supervision

Ensure that the work is conducted in a safe working practice and procedures
Conduct inspection on equipment to identify damages or defects, document them and report to supervisor
Execute all mining equipment maintenance tasks following approved work procedures
Ensure all tasks are performed safely according to GGM Safety Standards procedures
Repair equipment and report completion of tasks to Senior Supervisor
Maintain good housekeeping
Report any unsafe equipment to Supervisor immediately
Perform work to OEM’s standards to increase equipment uptime
Plan work before execution
Meet work delivery deadlines
